Playtech have today announced the release of Majority Rules Speed Blackjack exclusively with GVC owned brands, a new scalable Live Casino game designed around community play. The announcement of Majority Rules Speed Blackjack swiftly follows the release of Spin and Win Live Roulette with PokerStars.

I value speed as I don't want a 45-50 mph boat. I would like to be 60+, but not sure where this will fall just yet. From what I understand the 22 blackjack is a very fast efficient hull and the 25 appears to be designed similar to that, but just a lot heavier (2900 lbs dry).

Majority Rules Speed Blackjack features two game modes, majority rules and best strategy, with the game mode decided by the number of players participating in each round. The live casino game has been developed in conjunction with GVC, where the game will be exclusive with their brands such as Ladbrokes and Coral, for the first month from launch.

  • Blackjack is a game of skill. Players can beat the game by using card counting. Speed Count is the easiest method to learn. Here is a demonstration of how it works.
  • Live Speed Blackjack is a game where speed is key. A groundbreaking release for Evolution Gaming, this version of Blackjack is a game changer! The game follows the usual rules of blackjack with the difference that the fastest player in reacting to their cards goes first.

Playtech have also confirmed that they anticipate Majority Rules Speed Blackjack will go live across their entire network of operators next month in July.

Commenting on the development and forthcoming release of Majority Rules Speed Blackjack Edo Haitin, Chief Executive Officer at Playtech Live Casino, said: “Innovation and experience-led gameplay are at the core of our product strategy, and Majority Rules Speed Blackjack delivers on both counts.”

“The success of our community Live Slots concept demonstrates player demand for interactive & fun games – the experience you would enjoy when playing alongside others in a land-based casino.”

“We’re confident the combination of engaging classic Blackjack gameplay and the new collaborative, community play will be a major hit with players and will of course create the proper Speed variant for Blackjack.”

Matt Charlesworth, Head of Live Casino at GVC adds: “Everyone at GVC was delighted to work closely with Playtech on Majority Rules Speed Blackjack, through all stages of concept, design and development – and we’re excited to offer this first of its type game to our players across the GVC brands.”

“Majority Rules Speed Blackjack captures a real community feel with the unique “Ask the Audience” voting approach to the in-game decision-making. The game is fully scalable, offering something very different for players, without deviating from classic European Blackjack with popular sidebets.”

Blackjack fans that want to play their own hands and at a table that is faster than any other, will love what Evolution Gaming has created in Speed Blackjack. Carrying standard Blackjack rules, odds and payouts, the main difference here is that once players have been dealt their initial hand, it is the player that makes the decision the quickest that will take the next turn.

Table Layout

Speed Blackjack

The action on Speed Blackjack takes place on a standard 7-seat blackjack table. The dealer is sat with the card shoe to their left and will deal the players cards directly in front of their position on the table. Each player has three betting areas in front of them. The main wager is placed in the middle location while to either side are where digital chips can be placed for the two side bets.

Graphics, Sounds, and Animations

The action on Speed Blackjack is delivered by a single camera facing both the table and the dealer. Players see the action on their desktop and mobile devices via a live feed that is delivered using high-quality HD webcams. That feed is from an Evolution Gaming studio where the action takes place in realtime as the player's wager and play their hands.

Gameplay Options

Speed Blackjack by Evolution Gaming follows the same rules, odds and payouts that can be found in the standard game. There are some big differences however, the main one being an ingenious way to speed up the action.

In standard Blackjack, the dealer will deal two cards to each player and themselves before waiting for the player to their left to take their turn. All other players must wait in line to then take their turns. This can take a long time, especially if there are some slow players on the table.

In Speed Blackjack, once each player has their initial two cards, the first player to Hit, Stand, Split or Double will see their action taken care of. This can speed up a hand of Blackjack by up to 30%. Additionally, players have seven seconds less time to make their decisions than in standard live Blackjack games. Should they time out, there are automatic features in play that will either force the player to stand or hit.

As found at many other Evolution Gaming Blackjack variations, three side bets can be placed when playing Speed Blackjack. Those side bets are as follows:

Perfect Pairs: Those who wager on this side bet will be rewarded if the first two cards dealt to them form a pair. A pair that is mixed colours will pay 6 to 1, the same colour pair pays 12 to 1 and a pair that is the same suit will pay 25 to 1.

21 3 Side Bet: This side bet will payout if the players initial two cards and the dealers up card make a particular poker hand. A flush will pay 5 to 1, a straight 10 to 1, trips pay 30 to 1 and a straight flush pays 40 to 1. If a player can make trips that are all the same suit, they will be paid out a staggering 100 to 1.

Blackjack

Bet Behind: This side bet allows you to bet on another player winning. Standard Blackjack odds apply here. You can also configure some automated options here to determine automatic actions for when the player double or splits.

Betting Options

There are some added features to Speed Blackjack to ensure that each game goes as quickly as possible. These autoplay features will kick in when a player at the table times out during a hand.

If a player times out:

  • If they have a hand with a value of 11 or less, the dealer will hit.
  • If they have a hand of 12 or more, the hand will stand.

Bet sizes, RTP and Variance

During the main hand, the RTP on Speed Blackjack is the same as all regular games of Blackjack at 99.29%. As for the side bets, Perfect pairs has an RTP of 95.90% and 21 3 has an RTP of 96.30%. As for the variance, Blackjack is a low variance game that pays out often but usually in small amounts.

In terms of the bet sizes, players can find tables that allow minimum bets for as low as 1.00 and as high as 500.00.

Conclusion

Speed Blackjack by Evolution Gaming is such a great idea. By letting the first person to act to take have their turn first, the speed of a Blackjack hand can be as much as 30% than normal. That alongside the lucrative side bets makes Speed Blackjack a game that the inpatient among you should try.
